Were looking for a Control Systems Project Engineer I to take ownership of complex automation and control system projectsfrom design through commissioning. Youll lead technical execution, drive innovation, and serve as the key link between our engineering, field, and customer teams. This is a role for a hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys solving challenges that make a real impact.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or related field).
  • 4+ years in control systems engineering with at least 2 years leading projects.
  • PLC, HMI, or SCADA platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar)
  • Understanding of industrial instrumentation, networking, and IT/OT systems
  • Field commissioning and troubleshooting expertise
  • Excellent communicator, proactive problem solver, and strong team player.
  • Proof of work authorization required.
  • Valid drivers license and fit-for-duty certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PLC, HMI, and SCADA system design, programming, and integration.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and on-site commissioning activities.
  • Interpret and review P&IDs, electrical drawings, and system schematics.
  • Oversee project execution to ensure scope, quality, and safety compliance.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned projects.
  • Mentor junior engineers and ensure adherence to Thermos Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify and manage project risks, budgets, and schedules.
