We are seeking a Control Systems Project Engineer I to support the execution of automation and control system projects from design through commissioning. This role works closely with project managers, senior engineers, and field teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions while continuing to build project and leadership skills. The position is well-suited for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work, learning through experience, and contributing to complex, real-world projects.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (or related field)
  • 4+ years in control systems engineering with exposure to project-based work
  • PLC, HMI, or SCADA platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, or similar)
  • Basic understanding of industrial instrumentation, networking, and IT/OT systems
  • Field commissioning and troubleshooting exposure
  • Clear communicator, eager learner, collaborative team member
  • Valid drivers license, proof of work authorization, fit for duty

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, programming, and integration of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and on-site commissioning activities
  • Review P&IDs, electrical drawings, and system schematics under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Assist with project execution to ensure scope, quality, and safety requirements are met
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for assigned tasks, in coordination with the project team
  • Support adherence to Thermo Systems Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Assist with identifying technical risks, tracking schedules, and monitoring project progress
