About The Position

The Control Systems Lead at Amazon is responsible for leading a team of service technicians in maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying Material Handling Equipment (MHE) control systems to ensure optimal operational performance. This role involves designing solutions for complex problems, managing projects, and providing training and mentorship to technicians. The position plays a crucial role in promoting safety and efficiency within the operations maintenance team.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • Associate's degree, or 2+ years of professional or military experience
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with Motor Controls
  • 5+ years of experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) programs
  • 3+ years with SCADA systems and KPIs
  • 3+ years of experience supporting conveyors and sortation systems
  • Leadership and project management experience
  • Experience with ASRS systems and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • 1+ year of experience working with Allen Bradley
  • 1+ years maintaining and troubleshooting robotics systems

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Troubleshoot and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and various industrial networks
  • Act as first level escalation support for the control system technician teams
  • Apply subject matter expertise in material handling and electronic control systems to maximize building utilization
  • Monitor MHE metrics and partner with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve equipment electrical problems
  • Partner with Facility Operations leadership and equipment vendors to plan and coordinate new technology installations
  • Communicate technical issues and project timelines with building leadership and maintenance teams
  • Develop training plans for Control Systems Technicians
  • Move up to 49lbs and stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours
