About The Position

Saulsbury Industries is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join their I/E & Control Systems Department. This full-time position involves working on control systems engineering and designs for large industrial projects in midstream gas processing, petroleum refining, petrochemical, and upstream oil & gas industries. Saulsbury Industries provides engineering, general construction, electrical & instrumentation, and fabrication services to heavy industrial markets, managing turnkey, grassroots, engineering, construction, and procurement (EPC), electrical transmission & distribution services, and E&I projects nationwide. The company has over 50 years of experience in the energy sector and emphasizes safety, quality, growth, and mutual profitability, offering stable employment and career advancement. The role can be based in Odessa, Abilene, or Houston, TX.

Requirements

  • BS. in Electrical Engineering or B.S. in Engineering with equivalent I/E & control systems experience.
  • 5+ years' experience.
  • Must have Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLCs and Wonderware HMI development experience.
  • EIT licensure required or the ability to get licensed after joining the company.
  • Must have trouble shooting skills.
  • Must have commissioning and start-up experience.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Record of success working in a team culture.
  • Professional and ethical.
  • Strong Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Well developed, detail oriented organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a control systems engineer for selected projects.
  • Interact with other engineering disciplines, engineering and construction project managers, and clients (10% of time).
  • Provide input to the initial project schedule and support the regular maintenance of project schedules for designated projects (5% of time).
  • Work process quality review and drawing approval in the capacity of a lead engineer (20% of time).
  • Responsible for PLC/DCS Programming and HMI configuration (40% of time).
  • Perform Software Factory Acceptance Tests and Hardware Acceptance Tests for the plant control system (25% of time).
  • Provide man hour and equipment estimates for project proposals.
  • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work with others.
