This position is for a Renewable Operations Engineer (Control Systems Engineer/Sr. Engineer) with relevant work experience in power generation engineering, operations, maintenance, construction, instrumentation and controls or project development in renewables or the energy industry. The successful candidate will provide in-field engineering support for our team and our fleet of renewable sites.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with SCADA and Industrial Control Systems including PLC and/or DCS system devices.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry advances in control system monitoring, testing and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of electrical and electronics theory.
  • Strong technical leadership skills and strong verbal/written communication skills.
  • Experience with Ethernet network switches and serial digital communications.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge of configuration management.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in control system engineering, design, implementation, programming, configuration, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting in support of utility-scale power generation SCADA and Industrial Control Systems (ICS).
  • Provide hands-on support for all associated control system devices, controllers, computers and account management, communications, control logic interfaces for inverter operation and solar tracking systems.
  • Manage/Lead projects and perform multiple responsibilities of controls engineering support in parallel and oversee vendor/contract support when needed.
  • Investigate and implement technologies that will improve plant operation and performance.
  • Perform due diligence for plant acquisition and evaluation of controls specifications for projects and new plant construction.
