About The Position

We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer II to join the Engineering team. This role provides hands-on support for process control systems, automation projects, and site operations in a regulated manufacturing environment. The position supports PLC-based systems, SCADA platforms, HMIs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and industrial electrical systems while ensuring compliance with cGMP and applicable regulatory requirements. This role works independently on assigned tasks and collaborates with Engineering, Operations, IT, Quality, and external vendors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field required
  • 5–10 years of experience in control systems and automation within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong PLC and industrial automation experience required
  • Occasional off-shift or emergency support for a 24x5 manufacturing operation
  • Exposure to industrial equipment and electrical systems
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. with proper PPE

  • Experience in regulated or cGMP environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support execution of process control and automation projects
  • Assist with scope development, scheduling, vendor coordination, equipment specification, and project closeout
  • Specify, configure, program, and test PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, drives, and related control systems
  • Provide limited support for facility electrical systems related to automation projects
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and SCADA systems
  • Diagnose issues involving drives, control panels, industrial networks, and instrumentation
  • Provide technical recommendations to improve system reliability
  • Support systems in a validated/verified state consistent with regulatory requirements
  • Assist with documentation, backups, archiving, and data integrity activities
  • Support system upgrades, recovery efforts, and vendor coordination
  • Support site change control processes
  • Assist with control system standards and verification activities
  • Participate in audits and technical reviews
  • Follow all safety and cGMP requirements
  • Complete required technical and compliance training
