About The Position

As a Control Systems Lead at JLL, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the maintenance, troubleshooting, and modification of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) control systems. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure operational performance by leading a team of service technicians. You will be instrumental in supporting the Operations Maintenance team by designing effective solutions for complex problems and managing various projects. This position requires a strong focus on safety, as you will promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures. In this role, you will troubleshoot and modify software programs for material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers, specifically utilizing the Allen Bradley Controllogix and Compactlogix PLC platforms with the RSLogix 5000 software package. You will also work with industrial networks such as Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I, and various motor control systems. As the first level of escalation support for the control system technician teams, you will be responsible for appropriately escalating downtime situations to vendors or headquarters to restore equipment operation. Your expertise in material handling and electronic control systems will be crucial in maximizing the utilization of building systems. You will monitor MHE metrics and collaborate with Controls Technicians and Mechanics to resolve electrical problems that hinder performance. Additionally, you will partner with Facility Operations leadership, equipment vendors, and parts suppliers to plan and coordinate new technology installations, acting as a technical consultant for capital projects within the building. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to convey technical issues and project timelines to building leadership, operations, and the maintenance team, ensuring a thorough understanding of the impact on systems. You will also develop training plans for Control Systems Technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
