About The Position

Operates the processes by which raw materials is cooked and processed into a high-quality product for sale. This is accomplished by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear .
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and taste or smell .
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl .
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds .
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Keep work area clean and free of clutter(housekeeping); Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment(PPE); Using correct tool for each job assignment; Report injury of oneself or coworker to management; Report job hazards immediately (correct immediately when possible) and document; Inspect all tools and materials for defects and safety issues; Follow all safety rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Starts the conveyance system to bring raw materials into the process area.
  • Observes pressure, temperature, and meters on the panel to verify specified operation of automatic and manual systems , and regulators.
  • Turns and adjusts controls to set specified feed of materials during different stages of the process.
  • Observes gauges and dials to detect malfunctions and makes repairs or reports a malfunction for repair.
  • Maintains log of meter and gauge readings and records data to help maintain high quality finished products.
