About The Position

The Control Room Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing the specific duties below: INSIDE THE CONTROL ROOM Monitor the cooker hoppers to insure uniform feed to cookers Monitor cooker temperatures Monitor press torque Monitor decanters to insure proper operation Monitor shaker screens for proper operation Monitor steam dryers to insure proper operation: to include soluble addition rates, amp loads on dryers and proper screw conveyor operation Monitor the Dupps system: dryer furnace and drum temperatures, CCP temperatures, amp loads on screw conveyor, adjustments to system as necessary Adjust temperature settings to insure correct dryer moistures Adjust equipment settings to maintain proper operation OUTSIDE THE CONTROL ROOM Visually inspect cookers, presses, shaker screens, hoppers, decanters, pumps Oil & grease equipment as directed Sample meal production from each dryer and the meal shed at least once per hour Lubricate machinery as directed Learn to analyze samples on the NIR Produce an accurate 12 hour composite from the hourly samples When not processing fish, jobs will be assigned by supervisors: to include: cleaning, sweeping, painting, general housekeeping etc. Report all hazards, accidents, injuries, or environmental excursions to your supervisor or a member of the management team immediately All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Experience in food or fish processing or manufacturing helpful
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Ability to work overtime, weekend, and rotating shifts as required
