About The Position

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of machinery and techniques as applied to operation of steam power plant and combustion turbines.
  • Steam boilers, boiler control systems, boiler auxiliary equipment, feed pumps systems, feed water heaters, turbine generators and switchboard for generator, switchyard and auxiliary controls, combustion turbines which may include (LM6000, Westinghouse 501B, GE Frame 5 etc.).
  • Working knowledge of electrical transmission systems.
  • Working knowledge of plant layout and all piping systems including location and operation of control valves in the systems.
  • Operating knowledge of electrical equipment relays, switchgear and controls installed in the steam plant and combustion turbine facility.
  • Thorough knowledge of the capability and limitation of all plant equipment and subsystems including normal and emergency maximum rates of changing load.
  • Thorough knowledge of plant operating procedures and ability to make normal operating decisions according to established procedures and safe operating practices.
  • High school education or equivalent including considerable steam plant/combustion turbine operating experience equivalent to three or four years of responsible steam plant/combustion turbine operation.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations as related to occupational duties.
  • Any equivalent combination of related education, training, and/or experience can be substituted for requirements listed above.
  • Must be able to be certified for all types of respirators.
  • Requires some lifting up to 50 pounds and considerable walking and standing.
  • Must be able to climb to various heights and work in tight areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years AOIII experience.
  • Desired coal fired power plant/combustion turbine experience.
