The Control Room Operator (CRO) at Northampton Energy Services, LLC is a critical role responsible for the continuous monitoring of all project systems. The CRO plays a vital part in ensuring that the project operates safely and efficiently, responding to alarms and executing necessary shutdown and start-up procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of electrical generation processes and the ability to maintain optimal operational efficiency while adhering to safety protocols. The CRO is tasked with the safe operation, testing, inspection, and maintenance of all equipment related to the electrical generation project, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental permits. In this role, the CRO must adhere to all safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. The operator is expected to operate and maintain project equipment at maximum efficiency, contributing to project profitability by minimizing waste and maintaining high productivity levels. Daily responsibilities include performing maintenance activities, writing and maintaining operational logs, and participating in preventative and corrective maintenance activities. The CRO must also establish good working relationships with teammates, team leaders, and project technical experts, ensuring effective communication regarding project equipment and performance. The CRO operates under established procedures with minimal supervision, making decisions within prescribed guidelines. This position requires the ability to handle complex work situations and communicate effectively with supervision and fellow personnel. The CRO is responsible for reporting any anomalies in project status and must be prepared to perform emergency operations to maintain electric service and safeguard station equipment. The role demands physical stamina, as it involves working on feet for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting heavy objects. The CRO must also be prepared for rotating shifts, weekend work, and on-call status as required by project conditions.
