About The Position

The Control Room Operator monitors and maintains consistent pressures and flows on the oil and water pipeline gathering system by controlling pumps via SCADA system and document operating information for required records and environmental reporting. The control room is operated 24/7 365 days a year and requires a reliable individual. This position is located at our Robinson Lake office near New Town, ND. The schedule for this position is on-site twelve-hour shifts 7 days a week, rotating days and nights. Holidays on the schedule will be worked accordingly. Level and salary commensurate with experience. This job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the position. Incumbents will be required to follow any other job-related instructions and duties outside of their normal responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Must be able to commute to Robinson Lake, ND for scheduled shifts
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
  • Must be 21 years of age or older per company insurance requirements
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures associated with oil and water gathering systems
  • Keen eye for detail and the ability to process large amounts of data at a time
  • Professional communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid environment; flexible with the demands of a growing company
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to remain calm and continue to perform duties during a shut down and take the necessary steps to secure safety for all company staff members, assets and the public
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, strength to lift and carry files weighing up to 10 pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone
  • Ability to successfully complete a post-offer/pre-employment drug screen, background check, physical, and to be able to meet all physical requirements of the job

  • Process operations in an oil/gas environment, with computer operated process control systems (SCADA/DCS)

Responsibilities

  • Start and stop oil pipeline pumps, to maintain consistent flows and pressures
  • Start and stop produced water pumps, to maintain consistent flows and pressures
  • Communicate with field personnel
  • Initiate shut down and isolation procedures as required for maintenance and equipment repairs
  • Continuously monitor all alarms and communications
  • Notify field personnel accordingly
  • Collect and interpret data regarding equipment functionality (Trends)
  • Submit work orders for malfunctioning equipment to multiple departments
  • Maintain the safety and efficiency of control room equipment and associated logs
  • Complete Assigned DOT Modules and Operator Qualifications
