About The Position

The Artificial Lift Technician / Control Room Operator plays a critical role in remotely monitoring and optimizing artificial lift systems across upstream assets. Operating from the Upstream Remote Operations Center (UROC), this position conducts real-time surveillance, identifies well performance issues, and supports field teams by providing diagnostics, troubleshooting guidance, and optimization recommendations. This role requires strong artificial lift experience, analytical skills, rapid decision-making, and effective communication with production operations, engineering teams, and technology centers.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on Artificial Lift experience as a technician, specialist, or engineer
  • Strong practical understanding of: Rod Lift, ESP, Gas Lift, and Monitoring and optimization practices.
  • Proficiency with artificial lift and surveillance platforms:XsPOC, PumpChecker Ignition, or Spotfire required.
  • Ability to analyze well performance data, identify trends, and detect anomalies.
  • Strong understanding of artificial lift design, operations, and failure modes
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must be able to meet all conditional job offer requirements including background, drug test, and agility and fit for duty.
  • Understanding of environmental and safe work practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with an artificial lift service provider preferred.
  • Experience performing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor artificial lift systems (ESP, Rod Pump, Gas Lift) to identify abnormalities and inefficiencies.
  • Apply lift-specific surveillance parameters to detect equipment or production issues early.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and optimization actions to maximize production rates and system reliability.
  • Diagnose well performance problems and lift equipment failures with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support field operations by providing detailed remote troubleshooting guidance.
  • Maintain precise well downtime records and identify opportunities to accelerate return-to-production timelines.
  • Track and support well lifecycle workflows, including: Failure identification, Well interventions/workovers, and Post-workover evaluations.
  • Manage communication between production operations, field personnel, engineering teams, and EM technology groups.
  • Prepare and deliver updates on daily surveillance findings, optimization efforts, and well performance trends.
