Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (default if not specified)
  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Power Systems, Power Electronics, or Control Theory
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in control systems engineering
  • Strong understanding of FACTS applications and control theory
  • Experience with MATLAB, PI/PID algorithms, and real-time simulation
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DSP, VHDL, and signal processing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement control systems for FACTS and grid integration projects
  • Develop and test control algorithms for power converters
  • Simulate system behavior using MATLAB and real-time tools
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals
  • Lead design reviews and ensure technical alignment
  • Support commissioning activities at customer sites
  • Analyze system performance and optimize control strategies
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
