The Control Installer 2 position represents the next step in the controls installation career path toward a Journeyman-level technician. Requirements

  • Demonstrated competency in all skills required of a Control Installer 1
  • Proficiency with software for various control platforms (GFX)
  • Experience with hand and power tools
  • Communication proficiency
  • Time management
  • Ethical conduct
  • HVAC and electrical experience preferred
  • Proficiency navigating Windows-based platforms
  • Construction experience and retrofit experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain compliance with a drug-free workplace policy
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in building controls service and/or installation
  • Working knowledge of Windows OS and PC functions, including file system navigation, software installation, and multimeter operation
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain compliance with a drug-free workplace policy

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree and/or trade school certificate
  • Relevant field work experience
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Responsibilities

  • Work safely with proper use of PPE and hand/power tools
  • Maintain an organized and efficient work approach
  • Demonstrate continued mastery of conduit bending and fundamental electrical knowledge
  • Develop and apply basic troubleshooting skills
  • Develop a working understanding of basic point-to-point
  • Participate in job planning activities
  • Adhere to HBT standards, policies, and procedures at all times
  • Participate in job-related meetings, including project kickoff through closeout
  • Communicate regularly with project management and installation management staff
  • Ability to work overtime, out-of-town, and overnight shifts when requested by controls management
  • Support HBT's financial goals and operating principles
  • Consistently enforce safety to the highest standards; maintain accountability for company-issued and procured assets by documenting use, wear, and condition
  • Exhibit professional conduct at all times, whether on the job site or operating company vehicles
  • Maintain all required licenses and certifications applicable to this role
  • Attend all required departmental meetings
  • Attend company or vendor training sessions as required
  • Mentor and train any HBT helpers or apprentices assigned to your job team
  • Complete and build upon your Controls Technician Skill Set Tree (evaluation to be provided by your manager)
