The Control Engineer will be responsible for maintaining automation systems including PLC's, HMI's, inverters, servos, robotics, network components, and computers. The role involves troubleshooting all controls issues and assisting maintenance in troubleshooting other issues using PLC's. The engineer will make changes to controls programs as needed to improve the system or to fix issues, assist in the startup of new equipment, maintain backups and change logs, and report any changes made to the program review group. Additionally, the engineer will facilitate training for mechanics on basic electrical troubleshooting and component replacements, support engineering staff with department management, and assist in any breakdowns and floor calls as needed. The position requires being on call for troubleshooting from remote and on-site as necessary, and providing coverage for the assistant engineer and/or chief engineer in their absence. Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, and holidays is also required.
