We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world. The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to contribute to the development, manufacture, integration, and verification of control actuation systems as a Responsible Engineering Authority for Class IV/V hardware in Huntsville, AL. This individual will be responsible for contributing to cross discipline engineering teams throughout the development life cycle. The role will require ownership of design elements, ability to make individual contributions, and ability to maintain a technical conscience for the assigned elements. Knowledge across mechanical mechanism design, systems engineering, and hardware test is highly valued in this role. What You Will Do P2 – At this grade level, the individual will be expected to work autonomously with limited supervision, have theoretical to advanced knowledge of the control mechanism development domain, and influence colleagues. The PCAS organization provides ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work. PCAS mechanical engineers are exposed to a variety of lab activities including engineering builds, hardware integration, hardware tuning, and hardware verification. The PCAS organization provides a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated control system technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows. PCAS mechanical engineers are provided the opportunity for direct access to these subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth.
