About The Position

Under supervision, an employee in this class reviews, maintains and modifies contractual and compliance records and related materials. The work differs from that of a Budget Technician in that the incumbent's primary responsibility is concerned with administering the various contracts derived from the budget process in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Work is performed in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Supervision may be exercised over a small clerical staff, and is received from an administrative supervisor. Does related work as required.

Requirements

  • OPEN COMPETITIVE (a) Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Bachelor's Degree; OR, (b) Graduation from a standard senior high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, and four (4) years of experience in maintaining financial records, accounts, or journals, budgeting, or contract and/or claims processing; OR, (c) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and administers contracts in accordance with federal, New York State and Suffolk County law and regulation
  • Assists in the development of contract language
  • Reviews claims for payment and assures conformance to contracts and program guidance
  • Determines if claims are charged to appropriate budget categories
  • Maintains files for contract records and reports
