About The Position

The Contracts Specialist is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts. This role ensures that all agreements meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. The specialist will collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, production, sales and finance, to support contract management for incoming sales contracts, customer flow downs and various projects, from R&D to production and service agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Legal Studies, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years of experience in contracts administration, ideally within the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company goals and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain an organized system of physical and digital records to manage contract renewals, deadlines, and obligations.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to negotiate terms, resolve disputes, and clarify contract specifications.
  • Facilitate discussions with cross-functional teams to ensure all contractual obligations are understood and met.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations, especially ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations).
  • Identify and mitigate potential contract risks, offering recommendations for contract terms that protect the company’s interests and reduce liabilities.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to align contract terms with budgetary goals and cost structures.
  • Track financial milestones in contracts, such as payments, incentives, and penalties, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  • Develop and improve contract templates, negotiation strategies, and best practices tailored to gimballed aerospace technologies.
  • Provide regular training and support to project teams on contract compliance and risk management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
