Spotlight is a fast-growing, tech-enabled services firm focused on Analyst Relations (AR)—the strategic discipline of engaging with industry analysts (like Gartner and Forrester) to influence market perception and drive business growth. This is a mission-critical function for major B2B and SaaS organizations. As our Contract Specialist, you will be foundational to our operational excellence, working with our Operations and Sales teams. You will be the commercial backbone for our growth, ensuring that all client and vendor agreements are legally sound, operationally clear, and executed efficiently to accelerate our revenue engine. This role requires a commercially-minded, detail-oriented professional who can serve as an expert in contract development. Your primary focus will be on managing the full contract lifecycle, bringing structure and rigor to our agreements. You will be responsible for creating and standardizing our contracting processes, drafting documents, negotiating terms, and ensuring a seamless flow between our sales and delivery teams, protecting Spotlight's interests while enabling us to close deals faster.

  • Contract Drafting & Negotiation: Draft, redline, review, and negotiate a high volume of commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, renewals, addendums, NDAs, and vendor contracts.
  • Process Creation & Management: Design and implement the foundational operational scaffolding (templates, workflows, version controls, approval paths) for a mature contracting function, moving us beyond informal one-off agreements.
  • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM): Manage the full contract lifecycle from initiation to archiving, leveraging CLM tools (experience with DocuSign is a plus).
  • Revenue Enablement: Ensure contracting speed and clarity, acting as the primary point of contact for Sales, Delivery, and Finance teams to enable revenue without creating friction or legal bottlenecks.
  • Recurring Revenue Expertise: Manage complex recurring-revenue contract mechanics, including term renewals, auto-renewal language, and protecting against mismatches in term, notice, and pricing.
  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as the intermediary between internal teams and external legal counsel for complex matters, ensuring adherence to standard legal playbooks.
  • System Integration: Utilize our CRM (HubSpot experience is ideal) to track deal desk status, manage contract data, and ensure consistency between sales quoting and final agreement terms.
  • Commercial Contracting Background:
  • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial contracting, preferably in a B2B services, SaaS, or tech-enabled services environment.
  • Operational Builder: Proven experience in a role focused on building a contracting function from scratch or bringing significant process rigor to a previously informal environment.
  • Agreement Fluency: Extensive, practical experience managing and negotiating MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, and vendor agreements.
  • Legal Acumen: Deep familiarity with core contract terminology (e.g., indemnification, limitation of liability, governing law, confidentiality) and pricing/discounting language.
  • Collaboration Skills: Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with Sales, Client Delivery, Finance, and Executive leadership.
  • Required Attributes: Detail-obsessed but business-minded, comfortable in ambiguity, and a firm but diplomatic negotiator.
