The Opportunity The Experiences Business & Legal Affairs team is looking for an experienced contracts specialist (aka contracts coordinator) to handle a wide array of responsibilities related to Netflix’s Experiences group. The Experiences organization at Netflix creates, develops, and produces ticketed, location-based entertainment based on Netflix’s shows and films. Through immersive experiences that expand and enhance stories from the screen, the Experiences team gives fans around the world the opportunity to step into their favorite titles. Recent successes include the launch of Netflix House in King of Prussia (Pennsylvania) and Dallas (Texas), award-winning runs of Stranger Things: The First Shadow stage show on Broadway and on London’s West End, as well as title specific experiences (Stranger Things: Face the Dark; Wednesday: Eve of the Outcasts; One Piece: Quest for the Devil Fruit; Squid Game: The Trials). The Role In this role, you will be deeply embedded within a business function and should be comfortable interacting daily with both commercial, marketing and legal cross functional partners.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a contracts specialist/coordinator, contract manager, or paralegal, ideally including familiarity with the location based entertainment industry.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Ability to work autonomously, reliably and proactively within tight timeframes in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- Ability to take initiative to identify and solve problems in a business-friendly and solutions-oriented manner
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with an ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines
- High degree of professional ethics and integrity
- Flexibility to work across various projects and teams
- Fluency with Google Suite and Airtable, and adaptable to learning new systems and tools
Nice To Haves
- Experience in entertainment and/or law firms or legal departments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Draft initial Experience contracts and administer and distribute these agreements in collaboration with other specialists and legal counsel
- Act as a cross-functional liaison for questions relating to agreements, including across Consumer Products, Finance, Real Estate, IP, etc.
- Handle NDAs and initial partner diligence (compliance checks)
- Advise on and implement improvements and efficiencies to existing workflows or systems
- Partner with various rights and intellectual property legal teams on rights clearances, trademarks and brand enforcement.
