About The Position

As a member of the Law Department team, this role will report to the Government Contracts Director and work closely with the Associate General Counsel. The position involves supporting the evaluation of new business opportunities in coordination with Sales, Program Management, and other stakeholders, and providing contractual guidance on the same. The role includes supporting proposal responses and leading contract negotiations, ensuring efficient disbursement of contract requirements and terms & conditions to appropriate stakeholders, and preparing redlines reflecting SDI positions. The candidate will provide guidance to the business demonstrating substantive knowledge of and experience with the contracting process and contract interpretation, and will support and drive efficient contract negotiation and execution with customers and subcontractors. Responsibilities also include overseeing contract approval sign-off from appropriate stakeholders, maintaining version control on all iterations of contracts, and serving as the point-of-contact between SDI and customers, subcontractors, and vendors on contract-related matters. The role requires administration of U.S. state & local government contracts, international government contracts, and commercial contracts, while maintaining complete contract records and ensuring development/maintenance of contract management processes and procedures. The candidate will monitor the contract life cycle including renewals, extensions, and close-outs, and will work with Legal and appropriate stakeholders to identify and analyze risk and escalate appropriately. Collaboration with internal stakeholders on contract compliance monitoring and audits is also expected.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree.
  • 10+ years of experience as a contract manager.
  • Proven record of judgment, discretion, and reasoning.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and penchant for accuracy, timeliness, and organization.
  • Problem-solving skills and program management.
  • Ability to independently drive contract negotiations to resolution.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and collaboratively with teams.
  • Demonstrated ability for continuous improvement and growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for a manufacturer.
  • Understanding of FAR/DFARS and government unique requirements.
  • Familiarity with the General Services Administration Multiple Award Schedule vehicle.
  • Experience working with Federal customers such as Department of Homeland Security and/or Department of Defense.
