About The Position

This position is primarily remote. Candidates who live within 50 miles of Boston, MA; Portsmouth, NH; Seattle, WA; Indianapolis, IN; Columbus, OH; or Plano, TX will follow a hybrid schedule, coming into the office two days per week. Join Liberty Mutual’s Procurement team supporting Claims Services in Personal Lines. This Contracts Manager role leads supplier contracting engagements from intake through signature and ongoing updates, partnering closely with Claims stakeholders, Category Strategy, Legal, and Security and Privacy. You will shape clear, practical agreements that protect Liberty Mutual, enable high quality claims operations, and keep vendor engagements moving efficiently. As the primary point of contact for supplier contracting engagements, the Contracts Manager serves as the main liaison between internal stakeholders and external vendors, providing strategic guidance, driving issues to resolution, managing procurement engagement and vendor risks, and promoting stakeholder satisfaction. The Contracts Manager manages multiple contracts and competing priorities simultaneously, maintaining organized tracking of deliverables, approvals, deadlines, and outstanding negotiation items to support timely execution. Core responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating documents such as Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Service Level Metrics and Performance Guarantees, Third Party Information Security addenda, and Data Privacy addenda. The Contracts Manager follows established procedures, policies, and templates to manage procurement activities, vendor risk, and compliance efficiently, and collaborates with legal counsel on negotiations, particularly for agreements involving sensitive data and security risks. They also ensure that finalized contracts are shared with internal stakeholders and that feedback is obtained and addressed to confirm required compliance and stakeholder alignment.

Requirements

  • Expertise in legal terminology, contract terms and conditions, procurement processes, and industry standards and best practices
  • Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to clearly explain contract issues to stakeholders and vendors
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Proven negotiation skills and ability to resolve contract disputes, especially involving security and privacy
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with experience managing multiple contracts and priorities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain contract matters clearly
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and feedback, particularly regarding data privacy, security, and third-party risk management
  • Experience with contract management platforms and systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in legal and/or contracts, specifically commercial contract terms and procurement agreements

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience managing contracts for claims related services is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with contract databases is a plus.
  • Experience supporting claims-related vendor contracts and insurance industry knowledge is considered a plus.
