About The Position

Pattern Energy is seeking a Contracts Manager to maximize value in the development, construction, and transition to operations project phases by supporting all contracting activities for large-scale, complex construction projects. This includes drafting and reviewing terms and conditions, preparing and tracking exhibits and appendices, monitoring contract compliance, managing contract changes, and handling claims management. The role also involves developing and automating contracts management processes and ensuring alignment of terms and conditions across agreements. The Contracts Manager will support the drafting and execution of various agreements, interface with multiple stakeholders, and facilitate process improvements for contract management and compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of related contracts management experience, preferably in the renewable energy industry.
  • Prior responsibility for managing large scale, complex construction portfolios.
  • BS in law, business, engineering or equivalent related work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex contracts.
  • Ability to prioritize and resolve complex issues under demanding schedule constraints.
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Some travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maximize value in development, construction, and transition to operations project phases by supporting contracting activities for large-scale construction projects.
  • Draft and review terms and conditions, prepare and track exhibits and appendices, and monitor contract compliance.
  • Support the drafting and execution of engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, equipment supply agreements, and related contracts.
  • Prepare requests for proposal and analyze contractor selections.
  • Monitor contract compliance and communicate with internal stakeholders on compliance obligations.
  • Prepare and track formal contract-related correspondence to contractors.
  • Provide advice and guidance on contract terms and conditions and claims avoidance.
  • Support management of claims and change orders during construction execution phase.
  • Enter contractual documents into contracts management software (inEight) and maintain contractual documents.
