About The Position

ARB, Inc. is seeking a Contracts/Commercial Manager who will be responsible for cradle-to-grave commercial risk assessment and mitigation in contracting. This role involves negotiation and management of all agreements with clients and partners, championing contract management processes, and supporting project teams in change and claims management. The Contracts Manager will also play a key role in dispute resolution and will report directly to the SVP of Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university; MBA is a plus.
  • At least 5+ years of related contract/change management experience as a self-performing General Contractor or EPC experience in heavy industrial construction (power generation, oil & gas, or process plants).
  • Extensive knowledge of EPC and construction execution risk from a self-performing general contractor perspective.
  • Strong sourcing and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with various contract pricing models.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written (including technical writing), and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.
  • Possess high integrity and uphold ethical practices.
  • A team player who promotes best-in-class contract management practices.
  • Highly motivated with a demonstrated passion for excellence.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish trust and foster relationships with clients and partners.
  • Work with proposal teams to develop strategies for a win-win contracting approach.
  • Review, redline, and negotiate all contracts (EPC, construction, MSA, consortium, joint venture, subcontract, purchase order) from a commercial perspective.
  • Manage commercial/contract deliverables and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present contract risk assessments to the C-suite during risk reviews.
  • Support project managers in drafting business letters and contract notices.
  • Assist in preparation, presentation, and negotiation of complex change order requests and claims.
  • Review project risk registers to ensure reserves are commensurate with the risk.
  • Support project managers in analyzing claims submitted by subcontractors, suppliers, and third parties.
