About The Position

The Contracts Intern at The Ohio State University will support contract management activities, including reviewing supplier invoices and change orders, generating and reviewing redline documents, and participating in bid evaluations. This role involves assisting the Capital Projects Contract team with sourcing and contracting functions, particularly in the development of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQ). The internship is part-time, requiring 10-20 hours per week, and runs from January 6th, 2025, to May 30th, 2025.

Requirements

• Undergraduate junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, or a Graduate student with a technical or business field from The Ohio State University.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in creating and editing documents and spreadsheets.
• Ability to learn procurement software platforms like ARIBA and COUPA.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of general procurement processes or business principles.
• Ability to coordinate and communicate with project teams and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support contract management activities including review of supplier invoices and change orders.
• Generate and review redline documents.
• Participate in preparing bid evaluations for review with stakeholders.
• Assist with day-to-day sourcing and contracting functions for RFP and RFQ development.
• Update and organize contract tracking files for various types of contracts.
• Conduct market research for labor and materials.
• Assist with the development of contracting process and quality improvement initiatives.
