Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech The Contracts and CLM Manager will be responsible for the operation of the contract lifecycle management system (“CLM”) end-to-end, driving and assisting with contract reviews, approvals and execution in partnership with the Legal and Health Care Compliance teams and other key business stakeholders, and improving contracting processes and efficiencies. Develop, design and implement new workflows, update contract templates and maintain the contract database.   • Coordinate and manage the contract process within the CLM, ensuring flawless execution and compliance for all agreements.
  • Be the primary point of contact to internal clients to answer questions regarding legal support and contract processes and triage incoming requests and train new users on the CLM.
  • Develop and maintain templates and playbooks for recurring agreements to streamline processes.
  • Manage communications with internal clients and external parties to obtain and exchange information and legal documents relevant to the contracting and approval process.
  • Foster and develop strong relationships with internal Company stakeholders in Legal, Finance, HR, Research, Quality, Facilities, IT, and other business functions, and coordinate on contracting and reporting requirements.
  • Implement industry best practices for contract administration using a CLM, create and improve legal processes, design workflows that scale our business.
  • Review, draft and edit a broad range of commercial contracts for internal business partners (e.g., Master Consulting and Services, Vendor, Technology, and Non-Disclosure Agreements) and assist in the negotiation of contractual issues and optimizing of contract language to support business requirements and mitigate risk.
  • Maintain and enhance contract templates for key contract types, including Non-Disclosure Agreements, Master Service and Consulting Agreements and Statements of Work.
  • Develop and maintain CLM training materials for the Legal team and cross-functional partners and conduct training regularly.
  • Support deployment of legal technology, including AI tools, to optimize delivery of legal services.
  • Manage requests for new vendors as needed.
  • Support requests for PRs/POs in the ERP (Oracle) and manage approved vendor and e-billing and outside counsel management.
  • Work in the Santa Clara office 3 days a week.
  • Notary Public or the commitment to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Bachelor’s degree required and Paralegal certification preferred.
  • 6-10+ years of experience in contract management, vendor contract review and negotiation (in-house strongly preferred).
  • Hands-on expertise with CLM management systems (DocuSign strongly preferred) and AI review tools.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and contractual principles.
  • Demonstrated success building and improving processes.
  • Problem solver with a customer service mindset and passion for continuous learning.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a highly functioning team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound reasoning skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and ethical judgment within broadly defined practices and policies.
  • Organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with DocuSign CLM, MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Outlook and Oracle.
  • Experience working at a life sciences or medical company preferred but not required.
