About The Position

Wood is recruiting for a Senior Contracts Advisor to join its Group functions business focusing on Finance and Administration. This opportunity is Hybrid in Houston, TX. The role involves delivering and prioritizing contract review workload, ensuring alignment with business requirements, supporting the application of Group Legal and Commercial policies, implementing efficient processes, and managing key internal interfaces within supported businesses.

Requirements

  • JD (or international equivalent).
  • Experience and proven track record of contract review, drafting and negotiation in a service company environment.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Work experience in the industry which allows understanding of and exposure to key contracting principles.
  • Working knowledge of contract terms, contract principles and drafting and roll out of contracting policies.
  • Working knowledge of the Company Finance and P&O systems.
  • Awareness of all relevant corporate and project procedures.
  • Excellent understanding of Client contract structures, principles, and policies.
  • Relevant Client Facing Contracting Experience: 2-6 years.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and prioritise contract review workload across supported business(es) in alignment with business requirements.
  • Assist / support the application of applicable Group Legal and Commercial Policies and processes within the supported business.
  • Assist / support the implementation of common ways of working to maximise value, gain efficiencies and minimise risk to Wood.
  • Managing and maintaining key internal interfaces within supported business(es).
  • Promote and demonstrate safety leadership behaviours.
  • Always act ethically and with the utmost integrity.
  • Champion and promote the application of the Financial Management Framework.
  • Champion and follow the relevant DOA and Group & BU policies.
  • Drafting, review, and negotiation of Confidentiality agreements / NDA's in accordance with business needs.
  • Drafting, review, and negotiation of Client contracts (bespoke and standard forms) including project specific contracts and MSA's.
  • Drafting and review of financial instruments (Bonds / Letters of Credit, PCG's, Collateral Warranties).
  • Drafting and review of MOU's and exclusive arrangements.
  • Reviewing proposed contract qualifications with other functions to ensure the balance of risk is appropriate for the associated services and remuneration model.
  • Negotiation of contractual terms with clients.
  • Providing overviews of contract T&Cs and associated issues to senior management and execution teams.
  • Providing specific contracts related inputs to the Tender Governance Process.
  • Identification of contractual risks for inclusion in the risk management process.
  • Draft and develop prime contract flow down terms to be incorporated into purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Providing contractual interpretation advice as required.
  • Assisting with the timely provision of commercial deliverables in accordance with contract requirements and Wood Policies.
  • Providing contractual inputs to Commercial Handovers, including mitigations and actions required by Contracting Policy approvals.
  • Preparation, negotiation establishment and administration of Joint Venture and/or Partnering agreements.
  • Alignment of contractual terms, including management of change, with the associated contract remuneration model.
  • Participation in Wood in industry wide contracts initiatives and workgroups under the supervision of their manager.
  • Subcontract formation and main contract flowdowns in conjunction with other functions.
