About The Position

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and well-qualified Contractor Special Security Representative (CSSR) to join our team of skilled professionals supporting mission-critical operations for the Department of Defense (DoD) and the U.S. Space Force (USSF). In this role, you will support the execution of the Personnel Security Program (PERSEC) by developing and maintaining local procedures, ensuring compliance with government directives, and promoting security awareness across the organization. While overall program administration remains government-led, the CSSR serves as a key liaison, maintaining accurate records, facilitating personnel actions, and ensuring adherence to established security policies and standards. The ideal candidate will take a proactive approach to security education and training, implementing and maintaining security training programs, documenting completion records, and providing them to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) upon request. Additional responsibilities include conducting new employee security orientations, delivering recurring refresher briefings, performing debriefings when required, and ensuring all personnel understand their security responsibilities. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to national security missions in a dynamic and collaborative environment, supporting the protection of sensitive and classified information across critical defense programs.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret / SCI clearance (must be maintained as a condition of employment)
  • 5+ years of DoD security experience, including at least 2 years in an SCI environment within the past 5 years
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DoD and USSF security policies, directives, and compliance frameworks
  • Proven experience managing SCIF/SAPF physical security requirements and conducting facility inspections
  • Proficiency with DoD security systems and networks, including DISS, SC, NP2, e-QIP, JWICS, and SIPR
  • Strong understanding of PHYSEC, INFOSEC, PERSEC, INDUSEC, and SETA principles and implementation practices
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to leadership, staff, and mission partners
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in identifying risks, implementing mitigations, and supporting mission success
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline
  • Relevant work experience, security certifications, and specialized training may be considered in lieu of a degree, in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) standards for combining education and experience

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee robust Physical, Information, Personnel, and Industrial Security (PHYSEC, INFOSEC, PERSEC, INDUSEC) programs to ensure full compliance with DoD and U.S. Space Force (USSF) regulations
  • Execute and manage all security program elements supporting the USSF mission, including personnel, physical, industrial, and information security operations
  • Coordinate and conduct personnel security operations within the Defense Information System for Security (DISS), ensuring timely and accurate clearance and investigation processing
  • Administer in/out-processing for military, civilian, and contractor personnel, maintaining accurate access control and security documentation across multiple facilities
  • Serve as a Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trusted advisor to civilian staff and senior leadership, providing guidance on regulatory compliance and best practices
  • Support and facilitate government inspections, audits, and self-assessments, ensuring prompt resolution of findings and sustained compliance with applicable directives
  • Review, update, and enhance security policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); develop and recommend new or revised SOPs for government review and approval
  • Manage the Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) program, developing materials and conducting briefings that promote a strong security culture
  • Conduct and document preliminary inquiries into potential security incidents, ensuring appropriate reporting, corrective action, and mitigation
  • Maintain and oversee SCI sponsorship for mission partner personnel, ensuring all training, access, and reporting requirements are executed accurately across facilities
  • Safeguard classified information, personnel, and critical assets through continuous monitoring and process improvement of security operations
