We are seeking a highly experienced Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) to lead and manage SCI and SAP security programs in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers. The CSSO will serve as the primary security authority for assigned programs and secure facilities, ensuring full compliance with applicable federal regulations while enabling operational mission success. This role requires a proactive leader who can operate independently, manage multiple programs, interface directly with government customers, and provide strategic security guidance across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience supporting DoD and/or IC SCI/SAP programs serving as CSSO, CPSO, PSO, FSO, or AFSO
  • Extensive knowledge of: 32 CFR ICD 705 Personnel, physical, program, and information security disciplines
  • Experience managing SCIF accreditation and inspections
  • Experience authoring security documentation for proposals and operational program
  • Strong working knowledge of DISS, NBIS, JADE, NISS, ACCS, SPOT
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple programs in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage SCI and SAP security programs in compliance with 32 CFR, ICDs (including ICD 705), NISPOM, and related directives
  • Serve as CSSO/CPSO for assigned programs, coordinating directly with government customers
  • Develop, implement, and maintain Security Management Plans, Security Volumes, Program Protection Plans, OPSEC Plans, and SOPs
  • Provide classification guidance and proposal support for new business efforts
  • Process SCI/SAP nominations and clearance packages
  • Utilize DISS, NBIS, JADE, NISS, and related systems to manage personnel clearances and access
  • Conduct indoctrinations, debriefings, foreign travel briefings, courier briefings, and security awareness training
  • Manage visit certifications and coordinate access requests across DoD and IC agencies
  • Support insider threat program requirements and participate in quarterly reviews
  • Oversee accreditation, inspection, and management of SCIFs and SAP-Fs
  • Ensure compliance with ICD 705 and physical security standards
  • Maintain access control systems, conduct audits, update access rosters, change combinations, and manage escort procedures
  • Conduct above-ceiling inspections and manage construction/renovation security requirements
  • Assist with COMSEC requirements when needed, including inventories and coordination with government stakeholders
  • Conduct internal self-inspections and support government security reviews and mitigation responses
  • Maintain a compliant federal security program that meets or exceeds DoD and IC standards
  • Interpret and implement security directives across multiple government-sponsored programs
  • Assess emerging risks and adapt security protocols accordingly
  • Maintain liaison relationships with government agencies, DCSA, prime and sub-contractors, and industry partners
  • Partner with Facility Security Officers (FSO/AFSO) on 32 CFR and NISS actions.
  • Deliver engaging security briefings and presentations to groups of varying sizes.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and relationship management skills.
