Job Summary The Aerospace Corporation is seeking experienced Contractor Special Access Program Security Officers (CSSOs)- Security Specialist III/IV to provide division-level support and oversee security operations for Special Access Programs (SAPs) in accordance with the DoD SAP Manual (DoDM 5205.07) and related directives. As a CSSO, you will implement and manage security processes, safeguard classified information and ensure compliance with DoD and program-specific security policies. The Level III CSSO will support day-to-day SAP security operations under the guidance of the SAP Manager. The Level IV CSSO will support the SAP Manager by overseeing highly complex security operations and providing leadership to junior security staff, while The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA. What You’ll Be Doing CSSO- Security Specialist III Support day-to-day SAP security operations under the guidance of the Senior CSSO, SAP Manager and/or GSSO Implement and monitor security procedures to protect SAP information, materials, and personnel Provides initial program indoctrination, CPI annual reviews, security briefing and Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA) program to ensure personnel are trained and aware of their security responsibilities. Support SOPs for security policies unique to their facilities and SAP Conduct annual training sessions and assist with initial indoctrination briefings for SAP-accessed personnel Assist with the development and execution of self-inspections, ensuring corrective actions are implemented Assist in the preparation of documentation for compliance inspections and audits CSSO-Security Specialist IV Serve as the senior security official responsible for managing all aspects of SAP security within assigned facilities, including physical, information, personnel, and industrial security Oversee and conduct self-inspections, document findings, and implement corrective action plans in support of SAP compliance inspections Provides initial program indoctrination, CPI annual reviews, security briefing and Security Education and Training Awareness (SETA) program to ensure personnel are trained and aware of their security responsibilities Prepare SOPs for security policies unique to their facilities and SAP Collaborate with Information System Security Managers (ISSMs) and Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) to ensure the security of classified information systems Provide mentorship and leadership to Level 3 CSSOs and other junior security staff

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a related field is required
  • A minimum of (5) years or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant professional experience in SAP security operations is required
  • Familiarity with DoDM 5205.07 and related security directives
  • Oversee and coordinate all facets of SAP security operations by ensuring compliance with applicable policies and laws.
  • Include incident reporting, investigations, access eligibility determinations, and updates to security procedures (e.g., CONOP, ePAR routing, DD Form 254, PPP, OPSEC Plans, etc.)
  • Maintain security records, including accountability logs, combinations, and destruction certificates
  • Coordinate visitor access requests and verify clearances for personnel entering SAP facilities
  • Manage and maintain security documentation, including Personnel Security Files (PSFs), Program Access Requests (PARs), and Special Access Program Indoctrination Agreements (SAPIAs)
  • Willing to travel and support multiple facilities approx. 10% (as needed)
  • This position requires a current and active TS/SCI security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain SAP access, plus any additional clearances as required, which is issued by the U.S. government.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
  • A minimum of (10) or more years of increasingly responsible and relevant CSSO professional experience or a Bachelor’s degree with (8) years of experience in a related field (e.g., Security Management, Criminal Justice, or Information Security) is required
  • A minimum of (8) or more years experience in SAP security, including managing complex security operations is required
  • Coordinate with the Program Security Officer (PSO), Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO), and other government stakeholders to ensure SAP compliance
  • Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures in alignment with DoDM 5205.07 and program-specific requirements
  • Develop and manage ingress/egress procedures for SAP-related equipment and materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of SAP-specific security training is strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of the Intelligence Community Directives (ICD's)
  • Strong working knowledge of security systems and databases (e.g., JADE, DISS and SIMs) is preferred
  • A current and active TS/SCI with an adjudicated polygraph security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government, is strongly preferred.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance
  • Master’s degree in related field is preferred
  • Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification or equivalent is desired
  • Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
  • Familiarity with SAP communications security (COMSEC) is preferred
