About The Position

PARR is the total source for homebuilding supplies, solutions, and services. We focus on supplying building materials and solutions to professional home builders of all sizes including custom builders, large production builders, and multifamily builders. Our customers and community members know that they can rely on us for Legendary Service and quality products. The Contractor Salesperson executes all aspects of our sales call process and strategies, with a primary focus on aggressive prospecting of new residential and commercial contractors. They will facilitate and coordinate business activities of accounts and executing PARR Sales initiatives. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with builders and general contractors which supports our vision to be the supplier of choice for all building material products in the Northwest. This role reports to the Division Sales Manager and interacts daily with yard managers & employees (in-store and outside), and customers. They will interact regularly with corporate employees (Central Purchasing Department, Account Management Team, Human Resources Department, and IT Department) as well as vendor representatives and industry associates.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2 years sales experience preferred
  • Prior experience in the building materials industry preferred
  • Must have good driving record and ability to maintain the same
  • Must be able to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
  • Must be able to type 30+ WPM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English required
  • Class C Driver's License or reliable alternative transportation
  • Knowledge of building materials and their uses
  • Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business for PARR
  • Knowledge of PARR purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
  • Being prepared for individual and group sales meetings
  • Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals

  • Ability to concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy office environment
  • Willingness to depart responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
