About The Position

North Reading Public Schools is seeking a part-time, contracted, Occupational Therapist to provide direct occupational therapy services to students in the district. This contract will be for up to 27 hours per week. Requirements

• Master's Degree
• Valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the MA Board of Registration in Allied Health Professions
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations that govern public schools
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience preferred
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in the district
• Complete assessments
• Collaborate and communicate with other members of the educational team including families
• Participate in team meetings as needed
• Develop educationally relevant, measurable, and observable goals and objectives with the team
• Plan and implement occupational therapy interventions, meeting the individual's specific goals and objectives as stated in the IEP
• Provide training to specific members of the educational team for implementation and carry over of program
• Plan and implement accommodations as outlined in the IEP or 504 plan
• Document instructional support, pre-referral and referral activities, evaluation reports, intervention notes, progress notes, consultation notes, and summaries for IEP meetings
• Participate in the decision-making process and implementation for use of assistive technology
• Participate in the routine management of the occupational therapy program and materials
• Participate in occupational therapy department meetings as directed
• Any other related duties as may be assigned by the Director of Student Services, Assistant Director of Special Education, and/or their Designee
