About The Position

A leading national insurance carrier is seeking a Contract Surety Underwriter to join its Specialty Bond Division. What You’ll Do Review and analyze business and financial information, including credit reports, bank agreements, and financial statements. Evaluate risk quality and ensure underwriting decisions align with internal guidelines. Build and maintain strong working relationships with agents, brokers, and internal teams. Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders. Manage a diverse set of responsibilities with strong organization and follow-through. Provide exceptional customer service and support to agency partners. Make timely, informed underwriting decisions using sound judgment. Operate with integrity, accountability, and professionalism. Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory developments. Utilize independent decision-making to support business goals and profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience (surety, credit analysis, financial analysis, construction finance, underwriting, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned regional territory.
  • Comfort working in a hybrid office environment
