About The Position

The Contracting Specialist will be responsible for managing the acquisition of materials and services at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division. This role involves overseeing the entire procurement process, from initial planning to contract termination, ensuring compliance with regulations and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Experience as a professional contract specialist providing leadership to contracting personnel.
• Knowledge of contract negotiation strategies and compliance with contract laws.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the Department of Defense contracting environment.
• Familiarity with federal acquisition regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a contract specialist with authority for acquisitions of materials and services.
• Process delivery orders/task orders and technical instructions.
• Review invoices and conduct cost/price analyses.
• Interface with managers, technical personnel, legal counsel, and other government activities.
• Develop acquisition strategies in accordance with applicable regulations and local guidance.
• Perform contract oversight and termination of contracts.
• Prepare stop work orders, cure notices, and show-cause letters.
