About the position
The Contract Specialist is responsible for managing pre-award functions for complex contracts involving specialized equipment systems, construction projects, and significant services for the organization. This role ensures compliance with funding requirements, coordinates legal actions, and develops acquisition plans to meet customer needs. The position may allow for remote work based on organizational requirements and involves occasional travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage pre-award functions for complex contracts.
- Ensure appropriate funding and compliance for purchase requests.
- Coordinate legal actions related to funding issues.
- Develop acquisition and source selection plans.
- Assist in creating evaluation criteria with technical personnel.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Experience in performing pre-award and post-award functions using various contracting methods.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and experience applying FAR Part 8 and 12.
- Experience managing multiple procurements with varying deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
- Contracting Professional Certification (or eligibility within 36 months).
- Experience in Advanced Cost and/or Price Analysis.
- Strong oral communication and negotiation skills.
