Lorenz Clinic has a waitlist for psychological assessment services at our Minnetonka location and is looking for a licensed psychologist to step into immediate, steady referral volume. This is a contract role — no employment overhead, no mandatory meetings, no administrative bloat. You set your schedule, we fill it. You can see kids, adults, or both. The referrals will follow your clinical interests and expertise. Compensation and fees are based on collected revenue. No hidden deductions. This is an independent contractor (1099) position. It is not an employee role and does not include benefits, paid time off, or employer tax contributions. Contractors are responsible for their own malpractice insurance, taxes, and professional expenses. Lorenz also offers separate W2 positions that enjoy various benefits and are more fully integrated into our clinic system and training program. Lorenz Clinic's testing program operates within a systemic, developmentally informed framework. We are not a factory for ADHD paperwork. Our referrals tend to come from within the clinic's care ecosystem — clients in therapy whose presentations are complex, diagnoses are unclear, or treatment planning requires deeper diagnostic grounding. The assessments we do are meant to be clinically useful, not just categorically correct. What that means practically: we expect reports that go beyond symptom description. A good evaluation at Lorenz explains not just what is happening, but why — and outlines a clear direction for intervention. The assessor is a systems-informed consultant, not a technician generating labels. Scope of services includes differential diagnosis, cognitive and academic assessment, personality and diagnostic clarification, and pre- or mid-treatment reevaluation. Forensic evaluations, parenting assessments, fitness-for-duty evaluations, and disability determinations are outside our scope and are not referred here. A licensed psychologist (LP) in Minnesota with solid assessment chops and a relational, developmentally informed clinical orientation. You are comfortable writing reports that a psychotherapist therapist can actually use — reports with a formulation, not just a score summary. You understand that a child's cognitive profile means something different depending on what's happening at home, and that a personality assessment tells you more when you understand the relational context. Beyond that, the structure is flexible. Some contractors work here as a supplementary income stream alongside a private practice. Some are semi-retired and want meaningful part-time work without the overhead of running a full caseload. Some are early in their career and want high-volume assessment experience fast. All of those fit. This is a testing-only contract. Psychotherapy services and clinical supervision are not available to contractors in this role — those functions are reserved for employed staff within the clinic's training and therapy programs. If you're interested in a psychotherapy or supervision role at Lorenz Clinic, see our separate employment opportunities. Lorenz Clinic of Family Psychology is a multi-site outpatient practice and psychotherapy training institute in the southwest Minneapolis metro. We treat systems, not just symptoms. Our testing program exists to deepen diagnostic understanding and serve clinical decision-making — not to function as a standalone referral mill. Assessors who work here are embedded, at least conceptually, in a broader ecology of care. We have a reputation in this market for clinical seriousness. The people who work here, in whatever capacity, tend to share that value.
