The Contract Processing Officer (CPO) will assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in both community and custodial settings to ensure effective communication regarding the immigration process, and to assist ICE and facility staff in maintaining a safe custodial environment. The job provides services and support to individuals in ICE custody on issues that commonly affect the ICE detainee population such as responsive support to trauma, sexual abuse and assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, medical and mental health care, and custodial standards compliance. The job also serves as an assistant to ICE management performing work in support of their assigned office or facility. This will include a variety of administrative and management services essential to the operation of the office or facility including, but not limited to budget, acquisition, training, logistics, property, records management, travel, human resources, and time and attendance. Each Contract Processing Officer (CPO) shall work remotely, and travel, as needed to an ICE field office in a metropolitan area and/or an ICE facility. Provide services and assistance that will support an effective and efficient custody processing, detention stay, and safe release as determined by ICE, facility and field office leadership. As appropriate, coordinate effectively with Executive Office of Immigration Review (EOIR) personnel on Alternative to Detention (ATD) programs. Conduct removal planning with detainees such as referrals and connections to resources in home country to support removals. Assist in travel document collection. Assist in travel, transportation, and repatriation planning.
