The position involves performing contract cost and price analysis for the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) most complex procurements. This typically requires the development of theoretical approaches that go beyond commonly used acquisition strategies, procurement instruments, and methods. The role includes conducting in-depth analysis of proposals to evaluate the reasonableness of proposed contract prices, preparing comprehensive recommendations for negotiation objectives concerning cost, profit, and price, and analyzing forecasted price trends, economic factors, and efficiencies in production for future periods. Additionally, the position requires performing commercial determination analysis, coaching team members in the selection and application of appropriate problem-solving methods and techniques, and providing advice on methods, practices, and procedures. The analyst will also monitor and report on project status, review completed work, and ensure that management expectations, instructions, priorities, deadlines, and product quality are met. Training of Contract Price Cost Analysts and Contract Specialists may also be required as needed.
