About The Position

The Contract Manufacturing Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing relationships with third-party manufacturing partners to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant production in support of Adams Group’s ingredient and retail portfolios. Reporting to the Director of Commercialization, this role plays a critical executional and cross-functional leadership role in enabling successful product launches, ongoing production, and supply continuity. The position maintains strong partnerships with Production and Demand Planning, Food Safety/Quality, and Operations, serving as a key integrator between internal teams and contract manufacturers to align schedules, performance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Food Science, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract manufacturing, operations, or supply chain roles.
  • Proven experience managing third-party manufacturing partners across multiple SKUs, products, or facilities.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and regulatory compliance (GMP, FDA, ISO).
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Production and Demand Planning, Quality, Operations, and Commercial teams.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage service-level agreements (SLAs) and supplier performance metrics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and align stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Data-driven, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations and strategic relationships with contract manufacturers.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring alignment with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Monitor supplier performance including on-time delivery, quality, compliance, and cost targets.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions with third-party manufacturers in coordination with Legal and Procurement.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Supply Chain, Marketing, Food Safety/Quality, R&D, Sustainability, and Finance.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with contract manufacturers and internal teams to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO, GMP) and company standards across all external manufacturing activities.
  • Investigate and resolve production or quality-related issues at contract sites.
  • Support product launches, changes, and tech transfers with contract partners.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and generate reports for executive leadership.
