About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Contract Manager to join our team. You are going to work closely with a team of experts on some of North America's most significant projects. As a member of the North America Projects team, you will work across the transportation infrastructure sector, supporting projects within transit, tunnels, metros, highways, bridges, and marine infrastructure.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline
  • Experience on large-scale multi-disciplinary design build projects or progressive design builds
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in a similar contract administration role or equivalent (Experience in the Engineering and Construction industry is considered an asset)
  • A professional designation with the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or similar professional entity is considered an asset
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Willingness to travel across North America to support projects on an as needed basis (visit site locations, teams, and clients) (0-15%)

Nice To Haves

  • A professional designation with the International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or similar professional entity is considered an asset
  • Experience in the Engineering and Construction industry is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer the main contract on assigned projects, with the focus on Medium, High or Very High-risk projects (or any other as directed by Project leadership) and advise project and senior management on ways to manage, mitigate and improve on commercial risks/opportunities for COWI.
  • Core activities will include correspondence/minutes drafting, identification, tracking, drafting and resolution of changes, attending internal and external meetings where commercial/contract matters are addressed.
  • Administer the prime project agreement and any other subconsultant and partnership agreements using best practice contract management processes
  • Review all project contract documentation and identify project risks, compliance issues and cost concerns and implement appropriate actions
  • Prepare, assess, and negotiate changes, claims, and disputes
  • Communicate and liaise with client representatives on all project contract issues
  • Support, advise, and guide the internal project team with respect to all contract matters
