Job Summary: The Contracts Management Intern gains hands-on experience with our contracts team. This internship will work in cooperation with contracts management to aid in the completion of day-to-day activities and tasks, as well as long-term projects to support the contracts team. This position requires a motivated and excited individual working towards an applicable degree.

Requirements

  • Preferred upperclassman majoring in business, political science, finance, pre-law studies, English or supply chain
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Enjoys working in teams, excellent communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Working towards an applicable degree
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Support contracting activities related to the management of government and commercial contracts, including the review and approval of contract awards and modifications as well as the drafting of letters and emails
  • Help the contracting team research contractual requirements such as U.S. Government regulations and laws
  • Collaborate with the program/project team by working side by side with program managers, engineers and subcontract administrators
  • Take on an active role within a proposal team by reviewing customer requests for proposals and helping prepare proposal submissions
  • Participate in both internal and external meetings bringing forward innovative ideas while learning about the government contracting process
  • Take part in legal and trade compliance assignments, as available
  • Undertake special assignments as required
