About The Position

As the Director of Contract Management & Strategic Sourcing for ENGIE North America’s Renewables Flexible Generation Business Unit (RFGBU), you will lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies that support the successful delivery of ENGIE’s utility ‑ scale Solar, Wind, BESS, and MPT/HV portfolio. You will partner closely with Development, Engineering, Pre ‑ Construction, Delivery, Legal, and ENGIE Group to optimize commercial outcomes, ensure reliable supply, and advance ENGIE’s long ‑ term renewable energy goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (required)
  • 15+ years in the renewable energy (utility‑scale preferred), industrial construction, or capital project sectors
  • Demonstrated contract management experience with advanced knowledge of sourcing, scheduling, engineering, construction, supply chain, and logistics
  • Foundational knowledge of construction labor relations across the U.S. and Canada
  • Understanding of land surveying, geospatial references, aerial mapping, and coordinate systems (UTM, NAD)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and key project/construction management platforms, preferably Procore and Microsoft Project Online
  • Demonstrated strength in analytical problem‑solving, communication, stakeholder engagement, and technology application
  • Ability to lead teams, influence decision‑making, and manage cross‑functional collaboration in complex project environments
  • Must be available to travel by car and or by plane domestically / internationally up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record; for usage of rental cars and driving to site locations
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Supply Leadership Guide sourcing strategy and supply planning across NORAM RF GBU, ensuring alignment with ENGIE's global procurement framework
  • Optimize Solar & BESS assets prior to NTP through strategic commercial and technical decision‑making
  • Lead OEM identification, qualification, bidding processes, contracting, and relationship development
  • Commercial & CAPEX Ownership Own indicative, budgetary, and contractual CAPEX inputs across the portfolio
  • Align scope, schedule, technology selections, and pricing assumptions with cross‑functional teams
  • Provide key input for Investment Notes and Development Notes supporting project investment decisions
  • Contracting & Negotiations Lead RFP structuring, negotiation strategies, and contract execution for equipment supply
  • Collaborate with Development, Legal, Engineering, and EPC Project Managers to finalize commercial and contractual terms
  • Portfolio Risk & Performance Management Oversee a rolling portfolio of projects, proactively identifying risks and mitigation strategies
  • Develop cost curves, technology curves, and forecasting models to support executive decision‑making
  • Guide sourcing activities to maintain alignment of scopes, budgets, schedules, and supply assumptions
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership Support pre‑construction, engineering, and construction teams by driving procurement of long‑lead items and advising on contracting strategies
  • Facilitate effective communication between HUB procurement resources and project teams
  • Supplier Strategy & Compliance Oversee supplier pre‑qualification to ensure adherence to quality, safety, environmental, and commercial standards

  • Technology & Market Expertise Leverage deep industry knowledge to adapt sourcing strategies across multiple technologies
  • Maintain awareness of utility‑scale market developments across North America
  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership Lead sourcing strategy across Solar, Wind, BESS, and MPT/HV technologies
  • Identify and qualify OEMs; oversee RFI/RFP processes, proposal evaluations, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Develop category strategies that align with ENGIE NA and ENGIE Group Category Management
  • Monitor the supply market, analyze risks/opportunities, and maintain technology and cost curves
  • Strengthen ENGIE’s buying power by coordinating sourcing needs across NORAM Renewables & Flexible Generation
  • Commercial & Contract Management Own all CAPEX inputs (indicative, budgetary, and contractual) for project economics
  • Lead commercial negotiations, contracting strategies, and long ‑ term supplier agreements
  • Support contract disputes, claims, changes, and schedule adjustments in partnership with Heads of Delivery and Legal
  • Maintain and improve U.S. procurement templates, contracting standards, and documentation
  • Project Lifecycle Integration Provide leadership across development, pre ‑ construction, construction, and operations
  • Align technical, commercial, and schedule assumptions between Development, Engineering, Pre ‑ Construction, Delivery, and SRM teams
  • Ensure consistency in contracting, scheduling, procurement, and project execution strategies across the portfolio
  • Support optimization efforts to improve project value (schedule, technology, commercial structure)
  • Supplier Relationship & Performance Management Build and maintain strategic relationships with OEMs, EPCs, and key suppliers
  • Oversee supplier qualification and ensure compliance with ENGIE’s safety, quality, cost, environmental, and delivery requirements
  • Lead Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), including performance evaluation and corrective action
  • Proactively address supply chain disruptions and develop contingency planning
  • Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor sourcing leaders, project managers, engineers, and cross‑functional contributors
  • Ensure adequate staffing and resource planning to support project commitments
  • Foster a collaborative, high‑performance culture across HUB Procurement, ENGIE NA, and ENGIE Group stakeholders
  • Champion change management and continuous improvement across procurement processes and systems
