Contract Dental Hygienist
About The Position
We are seeking a Contract Dental Hygienist to support our public health dental program. This role will provide in-house preventive dental services to community members in a public health setting. Services are provided one-two day(s) per week in a supportive, team-based environment This is a contract position running approximately from late April through August Opportunity to continue the relationship for future public health dental needs This position is ideal for a hygienist interested in community-based care, preventive services, and public health impact while maintaining a flexible schedule. Benefits not available for this contract position.
Requirements
- Current dental hygienist license in the State of Nebraska
- Eligible for or willing to obtain Public Health Dental Hygienist Authorization (assistance available from Loup Basin staff)
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with diverse populations
- Ability to work independently in a public health setting
Responsibilities
- Perform dental screenings and oral health assessments
- Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants
- Provide prophylaxis (cleanings) as appropriate
- Deliver age-appropriate oral health education
- Accurately document services in accordance with public health and program requirements
- Collaborate with public health staff to support community-based prevention efforts
