About The Position

OCT Consulting is a business management and technology consulting firm that provides support to Federal Government clients. We provide consulting services in the areas of Strategy, Process Improvement, Change Management, Program and Project Management, Acquisition/Procurement, and Information Technology. OCT is seeking a Senior Closeout Specialist with at least 10 years of relevant experience in federal acquisitions to lead contract closeout efforts and serve as the Team Lead. This dual-role position requires deep subject matter expertise in federal contract closeouts, along with demonstrated leadership capabilities. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in closing a wide range of contract types, including firm-fixed-price, cost-reimbursement, time-and-materials, labor-hour, and hybrid contract variants, as well as IAAs, IDIQs, and BPAs. A strong understanding of federal procurement regulations and procedures is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple contract closeouts efficiently and accurately. As Team Lead, this individual will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring quality control, coordinating assignments, mentoring team members, and serving as a primary point of contact for internal and client-facing communications.

Requirements

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of federal contract closeout experience.
  • Experience supervising or leading a team within a federal contracting or acquisition environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Knowledgeable in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal contract closeout procedures.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for document creation, collaboration, and formatting, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and PRISM or similar contracting writing systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to project timelines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with subject matter experts, acquisition professionals, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and delegate tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
