About The Position

Legendary Entertainment is seeking an experienced Temporary Contract Administrator to support the Film Business & Legal Affairs team. Reporting to the EVP of Business & Legal Affairs, this role will be responsible for administering contractual payments, maintaining key rights and obligations tracking tools, and supporting the BA team with agreement summaries, reporting, and guild-related processes. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a film or television Business & Legal Affairs or legal affairs environment, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple contractual obligations and payment workflows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Business & Legal Affairs within a film, television, or entertainment company.
  • Strong familiarity with WGA agreements, guild payment structures, and entertainment contract administration practices.
  • Experience processing contractual payments and tracking options, development agreements, and writer agreements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Avid purchase order systems or similar production accounting tools.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage contractual deadlines, payments, and rights tracking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process writer payments, including calculating WGA fringe costs, submitting purchase orders in Avid, coordinating final payment processing with EP/Sargent Disc, maintaining proof of payment documentation in Business & Legal Affairs files, and distributing payments to representatives.
  • Process option and purchase price payments, including submitting purchase orders in Avid, coordinating with Accounts Payable, maintaining payment records in BA files, generating transmittal letters, and sending payments to representatives.
  • Process development payments, including submitting purchase orders in Avid, coordinating with Accounts Payable, maintaining supporting documentation, and distributing payments to representatives.
  • Maintain and update Option Status Charts, including key dates and payment tracking, the Master Options Excel chart, and actor options tracking.
  • Prepare agreement summaries for the Business & Legal Affairs team as requested.
  • Maintain Current Writer Obligations Chart, tracking writing services and related obligations.
  • Provide quarter close information to the Accounting department, including updated option charts, writer obligations reports, and development fee accrual information.
  • Submit the WGA worklist at the beginning of each month in accordance with guild requirements.
  • Request Title Reports and Legal Opinion Letters as needed for projects in development.
  • Register and maintain MPA titles as required.
