About The Position

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training. As a Contract Acquisitions Specialist with AMERICAN SYSTEMS, you will have the opportunity to do the following: Travel to remote areas along the U.S. border to support urgent infrastructure projects. Apply deep knowledge of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) processes, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) guidelines, and federal acquisition requirements. Ensure compliance while accelerating project timelines. Understand real estate transactions, land acquisitions, easements, and negotiate rights-of-entry directly with property owners. Secure agreements quickly and legally to meet critical deadlines. Authorize or recommend immediate payments for property access to avoid delays. Execute financial transactions in accordance with federal guidelines and project urgency. Serve as a field negotiator and acquisition agent, expediting agreements and approvals on-site. Act as a project facilitator to keep operations moving under tight timelines. Operate effectively under time-sensitive and politically sensitive conditions. Demonstrate discretion, professionalism, and adaptability in high-pressure environments. Leverage prior experience with CBP, DHS, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to navigate federal processes. Apply expertise in infrastructure projects and government contracting. Manage negotiations involving easements, rights-of-way, and eminent domain procedures. Ensure compliance with federal land laws and protect government interests. Ability to communicate to build trust and facilitate negotiations with local stakeholders. Exhibit cultural sensitivity and strong interpersonal skills in diverse communities. Maintain security clearance eligibility and uphold confidentiality in politically sensitive situations. Exercise sound judgment and discretion at all times.

Requirements

  • Active CBP BI or TOP SECRET
  • U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
  • 10+ years' experience with 3 - 5 years of experience with CBP.
  • Bachelors Degree in related area.
  • Understanding of the geographical and environmental conditions and challenges related to deployment areas and techniques for adapting to these conditions.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing right away access.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
