About The Position

The CI Tech is an integral part of our leadership team. The CI Tech must comply with all safety rules and procedures. This position helps to optimize processes in areas such as materials, machinery, methodologies, and measurements. They accomplish this through experience, knowledge / data gathering, time observations, statistical analysis, and by implementing Lean Manufacturing methods. This vital associate will also lead continuous improvement activities and implement plans to optimize performance and processes as the Continuous Improvement Team Leader

Requirements

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years related experience in manufacturing.
  • Understanding of and experience with implementing PFMEA and Control Plans.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
  • Must have knowledge of and ability to use manufacturing software (e.g., Syteline).
  • Microsoft Word – intermediate level.
  • Microsoft Excel – intermediate level.
  • Microsoft PowerPoint – intermediate level.
  • Microsoft Outlook – beginner level.
  • Microsoft Project – beginner level.
  • Must observe safety procedures and use equipment and materials properly; must wear safety glasses steel toe boots/shoes, and ear protection as required.
  • Requires the interpersonal skills to interact and collaborate with wide variety of internal personnel.
  • Requires the verbal skills to probe and ask questions to ensure understanding of requirements, participate in teams, and communicate technical issues to non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the organization’s processes conform to customer, internal, and all regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Report to senior leadership on the performance of manufacturing processes.
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes.
  • Evaluates and suggests recommendations on the manufacturing quality control processes, types of manufacturing methods to be adopted, order of processes to be following, tooling, and fixturing.
  • Employs lean methodologies and tools in order to improve production efficiency.
  • Utilizes time studies to document current production processes, eliminate waste, and to determine the current least waste way.
  • Breaks down barriers to change, in a professional manner, becomes the change agent for the organization.
  • Relies on education, experience, research of latest manufacturing methods, and training to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Leads kaizen events targeting specific areas of improvement.
  • Performs a variety of tasks as needed to accomplish organizational goals.
