About The Position

The CI Specialist is a key role that will assist the Rochester site in achieving our targets by driving waste out of the site and improving our efficiencies. This position, as an integral part of the Site Leadership Team, will set the overall continuous improvement (CI) strategy and manage execution for the respective functional areas. The scope of the role influences all site activities (Production, Warehouse, HR, Finance, Engineering, QA, and Supply Chain) to contribute to operational and overall business improvement in a systematic and sustainable manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or Food Science.
  • At least 2 years of experience in similar roles in manufacturing settings.
  • Advanced proficiency in lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Experience with advanced continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of lean manufacturing processes, including continuous improvement, standard work, problem solving, value stream mapping, training, and employee involvement.
  • Lead, teach, and coach employees at all levels on lean manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate the development and maintenance of the site implementation plan for the lean manufacturing operating system.
  • Drive lean training and implement a lean toolkit utilizing PDCA, value stream mapping, quick changeovers, Kaizen, problem solving, 5S, etc.
  • Lead continuous improvement events that result in employee skill and knowledge development and KPI performance improvements.
  • Prepare plans, drive performance, and ensure timely completion and achievement of product/process quality and savings goals using tracking and reporting systems.
  • Identify barriers to success and solicit help from leadership when needed.
