About The Position

The Continuous Improvement Quality Engineer at Brooks Instrument plays a vital role in enhancing manufacturing processes, addressing quality challenges, and improving customer satisfaction. This position involves cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic manufacturing environment, focusing on operational excellence and supporting the quality department in maintaining high standards for product quality.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality engineering or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as SPC, 8D, FMEA, and control charts.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis software like Power BI or Minitab.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality management systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to reduce defects, scrap, and rework using Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Six Sigma principles.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards for manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure fulfillment of copy exact requirements where applicable.
  • Support and promote Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) activities.
  • Utilize root cause analysis tools to address recurring quality and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and supplier quality teams to improve incoming material quality.
  • Conduct quality audits and internal assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support customers in 8D responses and regular quality resolution meetings.
  • Provide training and guidance on quality tools and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Initiate engineering deviation requests and product change notices.
  • Develop sampling plans and design forms for quality data reporting.
  • Prepare slides for regular Quality review meetings and participate in quality improvement meetings.
  • Support customer visits, surveys, and audits.
